I am devoted to helping clients understand their operational risks and manage them effectively. In many cases, this involves helping them develop or expand the programs they use to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from catastrophic events. My area of specialty has been in understanding how the whole approach fits together across disciplines typically existing in silos (e.g. executive response, IT disaster recovery, resumption of key business processes, crisis communications, pandemic preparedness, etc.). Much of my experience has been leading large consulting teams, including serving as the only expert witness in the most significant Federal court case involving the Business Continuity Management field and assisting the 9/11 Commission to determine private sector incentives for improved preparedness. Since 2011, I have been honored to lead the operational resilience efforts at the world's leading life and health reinsurer which included overseeing our global understanding and response to the COVID-19 pandemic's operational risks.I have spoken at several global conferences and am frequently sought out by the media as an expert in these areas.
