Developed and implemented two new prevention programs, Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services (Prevention Case Management) and HIV Prevention Counseling. Delivered single and multi-session one-on-one risk reduction counseling and education to individuals at high risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV. As a leading HIV/AIDS advocate at ACT UP Golden Gate in San Francisco, led on numerous projects, supervised volunteer recruitment & coordination efforts, and managed the daily business operations of the office and the travel logistics for its members. Lead fundraiser for many years, managing grant-writing, merchandise creation and sales, special events, etc. Other accomplishments include:• Organized over 100 educational forums, community rallies & events, often building coalition participation from across the Bay Area•Co-organized annual San Francisco AIDS Candlelight March that drew upwards of 10,000 people for four years• Contributing writer to an HIV treatment, prevention & public policy column that appeared weekly in the Bay Area Reporter • Organized community groups to counter "AIDS denialists" in San Francisco• Developed a unique HIV housing subsidy formulary with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation for at-risk, disabled, low income individuals, winning a competitive HUD Special Project of National Significance (SPNS) award • Led on many projects, including a successful HIV/HCV Liver Transplant Protocol for co-infected individuals, approved by the F.D.A. and saving many thousands of lives • Coordinated tabling, recruitment and outreach activities at SF Pride, Folsom Street Fair, AIDS Walk, Castro Street Fair & other weekend tabling venues over many years• Helped win approval for expanded access programs for numerous HIV medications • Successfully lobbied government officials for increased local, state & federal funding• Extensive media experience writing press releases, media advisories & developing relationships with local & national reporters • Secured a $100,000 grant from the Red Hot organization
