About Michael Payne

I've been working in IT for a better part of my life, just not getting paid for it.I've built 3 computers myself (I'm quite the gaming enthusiast, and I help spread this joy to others), and have assisted friends and family with a myriad of issues ranging from accidentally switching off wireless on a laptop, to diagnosing and replacing failed RAM and GPUs. Despite that, my recent engagements haven't been related to the IT field. I've spent the last six years working for an EMS company in their NEV (Non-Emergency Vehicle) department. The first two of those years were spent as a Lab specimen courier. I'd pick up specimens from a doctors office or other location, record what I had received, and take them to the main hospital for processing. In the four years that followed, I was elevated to the created position of Lab/NEV liaison. This put me in charge of assisting the supervisor with various areas of need. I assisted with scheduling employees, responding to client complaints/feedback, and improving processes. I worked very closely with the couriers, developing better training procedures to help prevent common (and costly) mistakes. I was also responsible for optimizing the routes the couriers followed to meet both needs for efficiency and client needs.Currently, I am A+ Certified and seeking a Desktop Support position.
