Systems Engineer
CurrentResearch electrical system equipment requirements for aircraft in development (incl. the Air Force KC-46A Pegasus Tanker and 777X commercial airliner), in support of Electromagnetic Effects (EME) Continued Airworthiness (CAW) certification. Test software for EME database tools in development and being sustained. Initially worked under contract with Chipton-Ross starting in July 2015, then hired direct for Boeing in September 2016.Key Activities:› Perform research of assembly and installation requirements, galvanic materials, robustness, classes and pass/fail criteria for all aircraft electronic equipment (avionics, wire bundles, connectors, ground studs, disconnect panels).› Prepare information required for aircraft Build Verification Testing, as well as real-time support of testing and problem resolution.› Develop and review Lightning/High-Intensity Radiated Fields Significant Item (LHSI) analysis reports for airplane maintenance. Designated as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for LHSI reports.› Support coordination meetings for engineering and program responsibilities, customer/regulator Working Groups, and EME software tools.
