I developed my skills through my early teenage years and have been progressing through the junior levels (players aged 16-20) since I was 17. Arc Initiative has recently partnered with Fish on Farms, a two-phase research and development study assessing the impact of sustainable models of integrated homestead food production (HFP) at improving food security and nutrition outcomes in rural Cambodia. In its second phase, the project aims to test and develop optimal cost sharing models for HFP that can be geographically scaled up and scaled out throughout Cambodia and elsewhere. From inception, I have worked collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and partners on the development of research tools and protocols for phase two that will inform the scalability of the project. As a lead for the business entrepreneurship, financial and marketing component, I developed detailed questionnaires for supply and market chain analysis within new project areas using both key informant interviews and focus group discussions. I have also been involved with the development of qualitative data collection tools for follow up of successful and unsuccessful intervention households from phase one. Additionally, I collaborated with other project staff to develop culturally appropriate training manuals for enumerators to ensure rigor in research and successful data collection through the implementation of the key informant interviews and focus group discussions. I am also tasked with the responsibility to identify further opportunities for the Arc Initiative to add capacity with the project over its three year cycle.

I engaged and instructed 34 students in one hour tutorials using Excel to build and solve optimization problems in a logical manner. I prepared for weekly tutorials by reviewing suggested teaching notes and developing my own creative strategies to communicate the class material in an interesting and engaging way. I was recognized for my commitment and strong teaching abilities by being asked to instruct an additional tutorial throughout my second year of employment as well as being asked to lead a teaching assistant meeting where I explained the weekly material to my fellow teaching assistants.

I maintained immaculate course conditions with a crew of 18 co-workers and three supervisors by have a close attention to detail and putting significant effort into all tasks assigned to me. My supervisors continuously complemented my efforts on the course and rewarded me by asking me to work on more significant course projects. For example, I was asked to hand water greens to a consistent moisture level throughout the four day BC Amateur Golf Tournament our golf course hosted in 2014.Additionally, I worked closely with one manager to organize collected course data logically into Excel and translate the data into information using graphs and charts allowing him to easily explain complex turf management situations to the Greens Committee composed of course members who made decisions based on the recommendations of the Maintenance Crew.
