As a public policy professional with over a decade of experience, I have successfully implemented impactful initiatives across state and Commonwealth governments. My expertise spans various portfolios: education, Traditional Owner agreements, multicultural affairs, environmental policy, emergency management reform, and transport. My ethos is centred on driving meaningful change through strategic leadership and collaboration. As a Principal Policy Analyst at the National Transport Commission, I lead critical legislative reform projects, focusing on the NTC’s new Heavy Vehicle National Law and the Safe Systems review of the Australian Driving Laws. My capability to navigate complex policy landscapes has been integral in advancing national reforms prioritising safety and efficiency.Previously, at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) in Victoria, I conceptualised, led and delivered the department’s first employment program for individuals of asylum seeker status. This involved collaborating with DPC's Office of General Counsel to amend the department's employment contract to allow applicants with temporary bridging visas to apply for gainful employment, changing how DPC recruits. In 2019, the Victorian Multicultural Commission submitted this initiative to Professor Peter Shergold at a federal inquiry into settlement outcomes for new arrivals, which identified it as a best practice policy across Australia.I am currently pursuing an MBA at Deakin University, specialising in management consulting to further enhance my skillset.

Policy Officer | Multicultural AffairsDepartment Of Premier And Cabinet (Vic) Mar 2017 - Oct 2018I conceptualised and delivered the Department of Premier and Cabinet's first employment program (and employment) of a person seeking asylum. This initiative was later submitted before leading settlement expert Professor Peter Shergold at a Federal Government independent review into integration, employment and settlement outcomes for refugees and humanitarian entrants and was identified as best practice. Professor Shergold stated the Government needed "ninety-nine more programs like this one". The program changed the way DPC recruits by providing asylum seekers with access to apply to work at the Department. This initiative was delivered in consultation with the DPC People and Culture Division, the Office of the General Counsel and St Joseph's Flexible Learning Centre. It positively impacted workplace culture by tackling negative stereotypes and false perceptions of asylum seekers. The candidate, of Hazara heritage, from Afghanistan, remains at the department six years on as a full-time policy officer and has since been promoted. The experience was a learning opportunity not only for the candidate but equally for all staff involved. Led a significant procurement process to engage consultants to develop Victoria's first Multicultural Outcomes Framework, establishing quantitative baseline data measures to track and report on community outcomes for culturally diverse Victorian communities.Served as a Secretariat to the Multifaith Advisory Group (MAG) for the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC). The MAG is the state's peak advisory group comprised of faith leaders informing multifaith policy and outcomes. MAG responded to issues arising amongst diverse faith and multicultural communities, including Victoria's Voluntary Assisted Dying Act (2017). This group met directly with the Premier to debate the legislation, which I played an instrumental role in coordinating, briefing and securing. -
