After 20+ years on the front lines as both a teacher and school administrator, 3 trends have emerged:>> Students crave structure. >> All students want to learn; they just do it differently. >> Teachers who set classroom expectations create favorable conditions for learning.Understanding these trends has fueled my passion for teaching classroom management strategies aimed at boosting teachers’ confidence in their abilities to promote students’ learning.TRANSFORMS SCHOOL CULTURES Forward thinking, I transform schools from low to high performers. At one engagement, I inherited a school ranked in the lowest percentile by the board. Within 5 years we were honored to receive a Blue Ribbon School award by the State legislature in recognition of best school leadership and teaching practices. My method? I took a “bottom up” and “top down” approach and eliminated barriers by: • Empowering teachers to seize classroom ownership• Implementing policies improving teacher-parent communication• Introducing engaging programmingThe results? Disciplinary actions decreased 25%, and test scores increased from 55% passing in math/English to 80%. FOSTERS STUDENT MOTIVATION, LEARNING & RETENTIONI develop a trusting culture, tapping into teachers’ best strengths and gaining their confidence. Known as approachable and reliable, I prepare teachers to succeed in the classroom, increasing teacher engagement, improving test scores and boosting student retention. At a proprietary school, I decreased the “drop rate” from 7.8% to 5.3% by encouraging increased student/teacher communication strategies. INSPIRES FACULTY’S “A GAME”As a former basketball coach, I gained a solid work ethic and coached players to their best. I enjoy helping teachers learn how to bring THEIR “A game” to the classroom. Whether you want to talk classroom management, how to keep students engaged, teacher training . . . or basketball, I’m just a message away at gmsstamp@yahoo.com or 812.350.8057.
