I have spent more than two decades dedicated to education with emphasis in using statistical analytics to design curriculum, managing/training teams and directly educating both adults and youths. I presented frequently at both in house and public forums. In addition to presenting I was tasked to mentor many peers and even leaders from surrounding districts. Working with colleagues, and parents gave me ample opportunity to develop in the areas of negotiation, conflict resolution, and arbitration. This helped compliment not only public speaking skills but also clear communication on a one on one basis. Much of my time was spent managing data and providing analysis on both small and large scales. I spearheaded many logistical issues ranging from streamlining data reporting to collecting/analyzing car flow data and developing a more efficient carpool line. Data science ties to the analytical approach I used and developed in working on many projects over the course of my career. This approach was unique in that I discovered it organically through self study and trial and error. Though analytics is neither common nor particularly valued in the education industry, I found it instrumental as I continued to grow as an educator and leader. I believe it has a place in every industry.Growth mindset is at the center of all professional actions I make. This philosophy has led to me becoming versatile and highly adaptive. I am responsive to feedback, whether that is my own or that of a college or supervisor. I don’t like operating in ignorance. I believe the only way to prevent that incapacity is continued, aggressive self study and personal development. Any less than that is doing yourself and those around you a disservice. The sum of this has led to independence and intrinsic motivation regarding my responsibility for research and self development.
