His overall rank was 2 out of 10 and his final grade was A-. I feel that he was one of only a small handful of students in the class who really “got” the abstraction that is involved in this course. In addition, he constantly provided leadership for other students in the class and was always willing to help the struggling students. Mr. Vessia has the ability and motivation to continuously grow as a scholar and “human being,” in order to excel in whatever endeavors he takes on. During the 2014-2015 academic year, Mr. Vessia was a tutor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. I was very impressed with the work he did as a tutor. He took students who seemed to have weak mathematical skills and raised them to the levels of understanding which enable them to succeed. Mr. Vessia showed great patience and worked hard to achieve results.
