Responsible for managing a broad range of internal publications and communications materials in print and digital formats; creating web content for multiple platforms, including the University of Pittsburgh's intranet for the Schools of the Health Sciences; managing social media promotions for the School of Medicine's Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts; producing relevant content to supplement grant applications and reports to state and federal funding agencies; providing marketing/media relations expertise to administrators, faculty, and clinicians.

Promoted the research and clinical expertise of the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences, UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), and related programs to local, regional, national, and international media outlets working in print, broadcast, and digital formats. Developed and maintained relationships with relevant reporters, producers, and assignment editors covering science and medicine, with particular emphasis on women's health, regenerative medicine, and public health. Regularly placed stories based on Pitt-generated research and clinical findings with media outlets ranging from local television stations to CNN, 60 Minutes, New York Times, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, Wall Street Journal, wire services, and major network broadcasters in the U.S., U.K., and Japan.

- Write medical and health-related features for CNN’s Internet site, the fourth most accessed news source on the Web. Stories have included the 13th International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa, a new educational push about sudden infant death syndrome and the results of clinical trials with Interleukin 2 and protease inhibitors as a combination treatment for HIV/AIDS- Reformulate and write medical news and features produced by CNN’s medical broadcast unit for use on CNN.com- Write features and news items on food and nutrition issues for CNN.com. Original work includes a special news package on the development of federal regulations for organic foods and a feature on distinctive Philadelphia food that ran in conjunction with the GOP convention- Rewrite and flesh out food-related news and features produced by the broadcast unit into a print-friendly format for use on CNN.com
