Zoning Inspector
CurrentReceived/Review Zoning applications for: Residential builds, commercial builds, sheds, garages, signs, sidewalks, driveways, fences, swimming pools, any/all structures, change of use, demolitions, and moving structures. Onsite inspections to ensure proper setbacks, foundation pre-pours (if applicable) and final inspections. Issue permits, and patrol for builds without permits. Answer questions from the public concerning allowable projects. Meet with the public to review plans as needed. Issue violation notices, issue stop work orders as needed, order removal of illegal/building/structures as needed. Receive appeal requests and prepare appeal hearing with the Board of Zoning Appeals. Receive variance requests and prepare variance requests with the Board of Zoning Appeals. Issue violations to court if needed and testify in court if needed. Maintain/file and records and fulfill any records request that may be required. Monitor builds to ensure compliance with permit. Collect fees (through the Clerk’s office). Coordinate with the Fiscal Officer for deposit and returns. Coordinate with the Village Administrator on New Projects that the Zoning Inspector should be aware of. Revocation of Conditional use permits as needed. Census reports. Filing annual reports to the Auditors Office.
