    As a postdoc associated with UCSD and Scripps Research, I am investigating individual differences in alcohol use disorder-related phenotypes in genetically diverse rats. These studies involve completing intensive behavioral phenotype in rats before and after inducing ethanol dependence, as well as collecting tissue at the conclusion of the study and maintaining a biobank with tissue samples. Other ongoing projects involve evaluating potential therapeutics of alcohol use disorder and characterizing strain differences in opioid self-administration.

    Completed a doctoral degree in neuroscience while studying stimulant use disorder-like phenotypes in rats. These studies investigated high levels of compulsive-like drug taking in rats that self-administered cocaine and synthetic cathinones. I applied dose-addition analyses to study complex drug interactions in vivo. I also evaluated compounds with varying mechanisms of action for their therapeutic potential. These studies resulted in 5 first author publications, plus additional co-author publications.
