After a year and a half spent travelling I re-joined Foxtel in the role of Business Analyst.

Responsibilities• Documentation of processes for IT engagement and governance.• Maintenance of project management software data to ensure it is kept up to date with current project information (health) – including status, risks, issues, progress, effort, dates and resourcing.• Reporting of IT capitalised labour costs to Finance.• Contribute to the design and display of the IT PMO SharePoint site.• Assist resources and resource managers with queries on timesheets or other data within Clarity (Project Management software).• Raise IT change requests and follow up on approvals for Project deployments to Production.• Project Management of small scale projects from inception through to completion using various methodologies (Short Form, Waterfall, Rapid, Prototype).• First point of contact for all queries Clarity-related, including: resource management, SQL, NSQL, gel scripting, portlet creation, process creation and data configuration.• All month end related tasks e.g. closing off time reporting periods, posting timesheets, posting transactions to financials.Achievements• CEO Club 2008. This is a similar concept to ‘employee of the year’ and was awarded to me by then Austar Chief Executive Officer John Porter.• I was responsible for the creation of a process which allowed the Foxtel Finance department to reduce their end of month processing times (for IT capitalised labour) from 2 ½ days down to 2 hours! I was responsible for the roll-out of Clarity to all IT sites across the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne. The use of Clarity time sheeting by all IT resources, along with the customised reports I created, produced this reduction in processing times.

These new practices also saved time for management, and ensured the accuracy of testing. When I first joined the team, staff were creating their own test cases in the test environment. This process would often take weeks, as there were hundreds of test cases that needed to be set up. As I was proficient in the use of SQL, I started writing queries to retrieve test data from our environments, based on set criteria. As the Test environment was a snapshot of Production, there were test cases that already existed; they just needed to be found. I also taught SQL to the other members of the team to enable them to work more effectively.• I helped to develop an administration system within the Test team to streamline processes both during the testing phase and also when projects were complete. My processes allowed us to keep the Test team’s shared email account clear, and enabled us to be able to easily refer back to past release documentation, should the need arise.
