In this role I represented the Brooklyn-based gym in the social media space, regularly updating Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Yelp and other social media outlets, replying to feedback and interacting with fans/followers. I also managed current deals/offers in conjunction with these sites and closely monitored analytics in order to provide insight and tweak our social media strategy as necessary. I worked closely with the general manager and reported to him several times weekly with opportunities for community involvement (in both the actual community and the online space) that I found through research and interactions via social media.

I facilitated the process of obtaining clearance for the agency's commercials on all the major networks. I worked closely with account team from the inception of the spot through its final production; reviewing and submitting spots and substantiation to the networks to ensure they meet the rigorous advertising guidelines of each particular network. I also performed negotiations between the account and the networks in order to gain clearance in a minimal amount of time.

Managed the work of the department's coordinator and was directly involved with the negotiation of clearance and support for claims related to problematic ads. Handled multiple voluminous accounts, including, but not limited to: Verizon Wireless, GM, L'Oreal, and many Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline brands.

Assisted the supervisor and director of the department in matters pertaining to the clearance of commcericals, working simultaneously on voluminous accounts such as Verizon Wireless, L'Oreal, Wendy's and GM, among others.

Worked closely with a senior editor for the company - which has since been acquired by Rovi Corporation - in order to build a database of Hollywood actors and directors. Completed weekly assignments of 100-word biographies, which adhered to the template and style requirements.

Contributed to The Planetary Group's online magazine on a regular basis with film and television reviews.

Created brand awareness and established trusting relationships with consumers by seeking them out in their places of work, recreational pursuits and events, educating them about the benefits of Red Bull. Performed research and executed missions according to specific target groups.

Assisted the head of the Program Practices department and three editors with matters pertaining to network clearance and communicating with various advertising agencies. Facilitated the commercial challenge process by writing correspondence letters to all involved parties when an advertiser challenged another commercial's claims. Assisted in initiating, writing and editing the CBS Cares website (www.cbscares.com).

Sought out feature and cover stories within the community, conducting interviews and writing articles for locally-affiliated newspapers in Cincinnati.

Worked closely with the magazine’s Film Editor. Projects included writing and editing cut-down reviews/blurbs, fact-checking articles in the film section, writing features about the local film scene and attending various film events for Cincinnati’s alternative weekly publication.

Wrote weekly film reviews and executed the page layout for the film section of Miami University’s entertainment publication. Sought out, edited and managed all contributors to the film section, overseeing the page's content on a weekly basis.

Worked closely with the Writers In Prison initiative, writing letters to worldwide heads of state that requested the release of journalists and writers imprisoned for their writings. I updated and maintained the PEN website, wrote press releases and made schedules of upcoming literary events.
