In 2 words, nothing and everything. There were renovations to plan, construction to manage, plans to create, staff to hire, contracts to negotiate, customers to satisfy and daily operations to manage. And a new language to learn. But the lifestyle is certainly different. The hotel is located in Managua, Nicaragua, Central America. The pace is definitely "mañana" and a challenge for a typical type A project manager.Within 18 months, we were consistently ranked on TripAdvisor as number 2 or 3 out of 100 B&B Hotels in the Managua area. We also carry a 9.8/10 ranking on Booking.Com and similar on Expedia and Google.Even in my IT career, my focus has always been on the customer and ensuring their satisfaction. I maintain that customer focus in tourism and TripAdvisor would agree.
