Lecturer on Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with the University of South Wales in Treforest. Students can gain both a BSc (Hons) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and sit the EASA and CAA Part 66 Modules for the B1 classification.Module Leader of both Managing Human Factors and Human Factor Analysis focusing on all areas of Human Factors within the Maintenance of Aircraft. The syllabus includes the aspects required by EASA Module 9 and goes beyond this to discuss many other related topics. I have completely revamped the Human Factors Modules and teach it to Degree Level and incorporating group work and reflective writing.Am recognised in the industry as a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.I currently have authorisation from USW to deliver the following modules to B1 classification.Module 2 - PhysicsModule 3 - Electrical FundamentalsModule 4 - Electronic FundamentalsModule 5 - Digital Techniques / Electronic Instrument SystemsModule 8 - AerodynamicsModule 9 - Human FactorsModule 11 - Aircraft Structures and Systems (Avionics)Previously been involved in training the Royal Saudi Air Force Flight Guidance trainees from unskilled, through semi-skilled and eventually to full technician status. Carried this out in Saudi Arabia for 25 years while working for BAE Systems.Recently been asked to be a Judge at the Aviation Industry Awards 2024 and to attend the Award Ceremony at the Birmingham ICC, presenting two of the Awards.Having worked in aircraft maintenance for 30 years I wish to pass on the experience I have gained during that time. Have recently obtained the Post Graduate Certificate in the Development of Professional Practices in Higher Education qualification to enhance my teaching to Higher Education students.
