My research is focused on the conservation and management of Chinook salmon and steelhead in the Snake and Columbia rivers, Pacific Northwest, USA. I help funding and action agencies identify data gaps and critical uncertainties; I then strive to identify the appropriate technologies and study designs to provide the actionable intelligence for data-driven, cost-effective solutions. I accomplish this through experience with project management and implementation, data management, reduction, and analysis, and finally, strong technical writing skills. My varied analysis background includes genetics (stock identification and genetic tagging), productivity and extinction risk analysis, data simulation, mark-recapture modeling, and reduction and visualization of telemetry observation data. Using my background, I hope to provide clients solutions to better maintain diverse salmon and steelhead stocks, resulting in sustainable and economically viable fisheries.
