Growing up, I was obsessed with planes, trains and automobiles. I was always interested in motorsport and engineering, so it's perhaps no surprise I ended up with a career in automotive. After working in the family automotive aftermarket distributor business, I joined Unipart International in their Business Development team. I was then approached by Comma Oil, recently acquired by Esso Petroleum Company. There, I engaged in several Esso and, subsequently, Exxon Mobil International projects, increasing global reach for their automotive lubricants and chemicals business.In 2012, Exxon Mobil sold Comma Oil to Cosan Lubricants, which was later renamed Moove Lubricants. As Business Unit Director and a member of the European Leadership Team, I was responsible for the internationalisation of the Comma brand strategy and its implementation.In 2022, I retired from full-time directorship to focus on consulting and mentoring other businesses, sharing my knowledge and experience in international marketing, commercial development, and business structuring. I was delighted to become a Non-Executive Director at Duckhams Oils, a brand I have admired throughout my career. When the opportunity to become Global CEO of this legendary lubricants brand in its 125th anniversary year came along, it was an opportunity I couldn’t resist. Keen to support the lubricants industry, I have been a Director of the United Kingdom Lubricants Association (UKLA) and the Verification of Lubricant Specifications (VLS) since 2015. It was an honour to lead VLS as its Chairman from 2021 to 2023 and to now serve as the current President of UKLA.Outside of work, I love to walk the dogs, ski, sail and travel. I am fortunate to live in the Surrey Hills with plenty of countryside to enjoy whilst being close to airports. I am a proud supporter of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity dedicated to providing the specialised nursing care and support that young people with cancer need. I also actively support Being Well, a charity my son Jack and his friend Ollie set up. Unsatisfied with the level of support and education surrounding mental health at school and university, they decided to create a charity dedicated to improving children and young people’s awareness and understanding of mental health. Helping young people by engaging other students of a similar age has proved very successful. I am very proud of their work.
