We currently have a roster of ten at the station, two firefighter/EMTs, six firefighters and two medical response only. Apparatus: Engine 1 - mid-mount pumper with 1,000 gallons. Tanker 2 - 3,000 gallons. Rescue 1 - utility bed and 300 gallons with foam system.

    I am the administrator of Arrow Rock State Historic Site and three satellite facilities; Boone's Lick State Historic Site, Sappington Cemetery and Sappington Negro Cemetery State Historic Sites, all units of the Missouri State Park system. Arrow Rock has been designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service in 1966. I have oversight of eight historic structures dating from the 19th century through the Works Progress Administration era (1930s). The most notable structures are the J. Huston Tavern (1834) and the George Caleb Bingham Home (1837). I also research and interpret cultural themes of the central Missouri region historically known as the "Boonslick Country":• Native American occupation - Osage, Missouria, Ioway, Sac & Fox nations• French colonialism • Spanish colonialism• Lewis and Clark’s “Corps of Discovery”• Westward expansion and settlement• The War of 1812 • Slavery and hemp/tobacco plantation agriculture• Santa Fe Trail and war with Mexico• George Caleb Bingham and his artwork• Medical legacy (quinine) of Dr. John Sappington• Contributions of the Sappington, Marmaduke and Jackson families to Missouri politics and commerce• The Civil War in Missouri• African-American history from slavery through Emancipation and the Civil Rights era• Commerce and transportation on the Missouri River, as well as the river's natural history• Historic preservation and heritage tourismAs part of the state park system, I also manage a 47 unit modern campground with amenities, 1 1/2 miles of hiking trails, and a four acre fishing lake. We are in the process of restoring approximately 30 acres of open field to native prairie grasses and forbs. I have developed professional contacts with the Osage Nation of Pawhuska Oklahoma, the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Red Rock Oklahoma, the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska at Whitecloud, Kansas, the National Park Service, the US Fish & Wildlfe Service, and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
