Notable achievements:• Transformed academic culture and morale to increase teaching staff satisfaction in all 20 graded functional areas after first year in command. In particular, “Trust in Leadership” area alone jumped 27 percent.• Increased number of faculty by 10% despite fiscal constraints, in areas of teaching, coaching, health care and counseling by reengineering the institution’s workforce structure and functional responsibilities. • Fostered student development and academic achievement leveraging increased transparency, motivational public speaking and enhanced ethics curriculum, resulting in the highest graduation rate in school’s 100-year history.

As strategic planner reporting to the Navy’s Operations and Plans Admiral, responsibilities focused on strategic assessments for worldwide naval operations. Notable achievements:• Coordinated Strategic Planning and Communications for naval operations worldwide impacting decisions for national defense. • Analyzed the President of the United States’ National Strategic Guidance and aligned employee levels, deployed ship basing locations, investment and training opportunities to meet guidance during challenging budgetary environment caused by sequestration.

Commanded 3 squadrons, 15 naval aircraft and 1,200 personnel executing combat flight operations in the Middle East. Notable achievements:• Orchestrated safe exodus of U.S. ground forces from Iraq by providing critical airborne surveillance.• Through visionary leadership and diligence, re-opened a detachment site in Oman. Flexibility to operate from this site enhanced airborne efficacy and efficiency by 125% and drastically reduced Somali piracy.• Transformed portion of local Bahraini Air Force base into a U.S. intelligence hub in the Middle East. • Eliminated a 21% human resource shortage by recruiting Sailors with slightly different skillsets than required by job description. Efforts vastly improved overall Task Force productivity and morale. Developed training plan to increase these Sailors’ knowledge thus eliminating potential for degraded performance.

Commanded 8 aircraft and 340 personnel executing combat flight operations. Notable achievements:• Deployed squadron to both Far East and South America. Stifled North Korean weapons proliferation in one ocean and captured multiple tons of cocaine bound for U.S. shores in another.• Upon returning to the United States, focused flight operations in support of Haiti post-earthquake efforts, ensuring the most critical residents received immediate care and rescue.• Set the bar high and team responded, winning every higher headquarter competition in areas of Operations, Maintenance and Safety. Visionary leadership culminated in receipt of the Battle “E” award for the entire command as the top Aviation Squadron on the East Coast. • Developed close bonds with local community through public speaking at multiple venues, enhancing positive image of the U.S. Navy.

Second in Command of Navy’s largest aviation squadron. Responsible for all facets of day-to-day flight operations. Notable achievements:• Mentored 106 aviators facing their first “stay or go” decision regarding continued naval service. Retained 86% of these critical futures leaders.• Driving force behind complete turnaround of failing maintenance department. After two failed inspections and risk of squadron shutdown, instituted intensive and intrusive deep dive into every maintenance requirement. Utilized internal “all hands” efforts while also calling in external support for their subject-matter expertise.

Served at the Navy’s Human Resources Headquarters. Responsible for assignment of all Naval Officers to fill valid billet requirements on the Navy’s most valuable ships, the nuclear powered aircraft carriers. Notable achievements:• Teamed with one civilian assistant to ensure staffing of 5,500 Navy personnel for each of the country’s 13 aircraft carriers. Developed plans to match individual skill-sets with vacancies while staffing one ship under construction, 11 in active service, and one in process of decommissioning. • Led team of 10 officers to execute a new initiative (Department Head Selection Board) for all of Naval Aviation. Initiative helped to ensure talent optimization so that the most fully qualified officers were clearly selected to maintain a high standard of Navy leadership into the future.

Middle level manager of Naval Aviation squadron in preparation for, and in execution of, combat flight operations. Notable achievements:• Maximized efficient use of limited resources by fostering extensive teamwork with Naval Reserve Forces, sister squadrons and implementation of innovative seven-day week maintenance plan.• Instituted cutting-edge programs to maximize proficiency of all pilots, despite resources at all-time lows.• Orchestrated squadron-wide unannounced aircraft drills to refocus and refine safety culture. • Managed all administrative communications for 340 sailors deployed across 11 time zones and three continents.

Responsible for the safe takeoff and landing of all aircraft on board nation’s newest aircraft carrier. Led a division of 5 officers and 175 sailors. Notable accomplishments include: ● Deployed with USS George Washington in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to master the systems, techniques and procedures of Aircraft Launch and Recovery so that the highest level of professionalism and safety were established and promoted when the first aircraft left the deck of USS Ronald Reagan. ● Launched and recovered all aircraft safely. Set foundation for 50 years of flight operations about this national asset.

Flew deployed and at-home missions in support of nation’s calling. Notable achievements:• Accumulated 3,000+ flight hours in support of the Cold War and the Global War on Terror.• Selected, as a Fleet Evaluation Pilot, to ensure standardization, airmanship and safety in 25 aviation commands.
