I was responsible for the Radiological Control Technician (RCT) training for Mactec RCTs and non-site specific training for all Bartlett personnel. I developed the RCT training program within the guidelines of DOE Order 426.2 including initial training, requalification, emergency response drills, and oral examination boards. Responsible for scheduling classes and instructors to deliver the training material in a manner that minimized impact on plant operations, while maintaining an appropriate requalification schedule. All RCTs maintained qualifications as a result of these coordinated efforts. I managed the training budget and provided quality training and highly qualified RCTs. Training assessments conducted by internal and external organization identified only minor findings during this period, and reflected that the RCTs were highly qualified and that the personnel in the program had a high job success rate. The RCT training program was maintained compliant with all of the appropriate government regulations. Served on two Nuclear Powered Submarines, the U.S.S. Haddock (SSN 621) and the U.S.S. Casimir Pulaski (SSBN 633B). I was qualified as the Senior Electrical Watch on both submarines. I participated in submarine drills including: fire drills, spill drills, and other emergency response drills. I was honorably discharged from the Navy on October 18, 1976.
