About Mike Mcdonald

Dr. McDonald is an aerospace engineer and plasma physicist whose recent research focuses on characterizing Hall thruster electron transport mechanisms using high-speed plasma diagnostics. His primary interests are in plasma physics, image processing, space systems and satellite design, and space exploration. In addition to his focus on Hall thruster physics Dr. McDonald is a highly capable engineer, with extensive experience in the design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical systems as well as MATLAB modeling and data analysis with a particular focus on custom image processing algorithm development for massive datasets. He has also managed and mentored nearly a dozen undergraduate research assistants over the course of a multi-year research effort.
