Computer Technician
CurrentOperates a high paced help desk performing NMCI support including NMCI hardware checkout and inventory services, NMCI System support services, NMCI Customer mediation services, and Central Design Authority (CDA) services, adhering to all industry standards, NMCI standards, DoD standards, and DoD security requirements. Performs installation, maintenance, updates and removal of all non-NMCI PCs to ensure that Reachback Operations and noncritical system requirements, including availability, are met in a timely manner. Provides system monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosis, security updates and resolution of problems which encompass areas such as administering user accounts, computer accounts, backups, antivirus updates, software patch installation, security updates, hardware maintenance, hardware and software configuration management, documentation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization efforts. Provides support services for Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Training, and Conference Room to ensure that equipment is available and problems are addressed in a timely manner. This includes installation, testing, maintenance, upgrading, integration and retiring all VTC, training, and conference room hardware, including projector equipment. Works with hardware vendors within the bounds of existing hardware support contracts and warranties, as necessary to diagnose and correct problems. Provides support to the Communications Facility Room (CFR), a classified SECRET space containing keyed COMSEC equipment. This includes installing, testing and maintaining COMSEC devices and COMSEC inventory in accordance with all DoD instructions under the direction of FNMOC’s COMSEC Material System (CMS) custodian. Manages SIPRNET connected Windows-based PC accounts in accordance with established DISA procedures.
