  Currently my role is Business Development Manager for the Middle East and Pacific Island Region. Developing new sales and the launch of new products to market is the main brief and for that to be a success I ensure I build a trustworthy and honest relationship with clients. Maintaining existing business is critical which involves regular visits into market which maintains the relationship. The range of products I sell are value-added meat products for both retail and foodservice. Selling to restaurants, hotels, caterers and government institutions requires me to do product demos in commercial kitchens and trade show demonstrations. Talking to a variety of people from cooks to professional chefs, procurement managers through to business owners. My business strategy therefore has to be adaptable to different businesses and different people I deal with. The bigger picture requires me to manage markets my own markets, sales forecasting and budgets, resourcing, and developing business strategies. It is an interesting and very satisfying role as I thrive on seeing new markets develop and I thrive on making things happen. Prior to this role from 2010 to 2013 I was National Sales Manager for retail and foodservice in New Zealand, and my first task in that position was to establish a completely new sales team from scratch and once the project was completed I handed over to a new sales manager so I could progress with my Middle East and Pacific Island position.From 2002 to 2007 I was a Sales Executive and market manager for Australia and New Zealand, effectively managing the development of Australia and managing our agents in market, as well as managing the New Zealand market for retail and foodservice. From 2005 to 2007 I also looked after Beef sales to Japan, Taiwan and Korea. From 2007 to 2010 I worked in a division called ANZCO Australasia where I continued to manage New Zealand and Australia for value-added product and also developed ANZCO's Chilled Beef programme.
