As the Lead Drone Pilot I am responsible for a multitude of tasks, including:- Remotely operating drones/robots in order to capture aerial, terrestrial & underwater data using sensors or cameras attached to the drone/robot as required- Operating drones & robots in accordance with regulations & safety guidelines- Maintaining & ensuring drones, robots & corresponding payloads/sensors are in proper working condition- Developing operational plans for various missions & projects, including obtaining necessary regulatory permitting & approvals- Coordinating with clients & project managers to understand specific operational requirements- Planning flights & assess potential risks, conduct various checks (equipment pre/post-flight, site survey, on-site sensor calibrations, security checks, etc.)- Implementing safety protocols & contingency plans;- Maintaining communication with ground control and other team members;- Secure transferring of data to relevant teams for analysis;- Reporting any technical issues and coordinate repairs;- Implementing quality control measures for data collected during drone operations;- Ensuring that deliverables meet client expectations; - Staying informed about technological advancements in drone technology;- Attending training sessions to enhance piloting skills;- Generating reports on drone operations, including performance metrics and incident reports;- Providing feedback for continuous improvement; - Becoming familiar with potential clients of Employer and their business needs; - Completing general, business development and ad hoc tasks, as assigned.
