After spending the past 10 years directing the English program for an education center, I have moved on to start up my own education center, Educational Learning Fundamentals (E.L.F.), with my business partner, Amy Russell. We tutor students ranging from Pre-K to high school in all areas of English, including vocabulary enhancement, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and punctuation. Writing instruction for our grade school level students includes expository, persuasive, narrative, and description. Our advanced writing program for middle and high school level students focuses on persuasive writing, reading comprehension, and literary analysis. We also encourage students to bring in challenging assignments from school that they may need additional guidance in completing. In addition to teaching general English and writing, we have also taught standardized testing (SAT, ITBS, CogAT) year-round for the past decade. We are proud to report over 30 English category perfect SAT scores over this time, and we have helped many of our students pass their TAG and SUMMA tests with our ITBS instruction. Both Amy and I are former state licensed Oregon high school teachers, and Amy is also a former college English professor at Portland State University.Our learning center is located in the Bethany Village area at 15280 NW Laidlaw Rd.
