Manager of Job Service and Employment Service Program operations in Anoka County and suburban Hennepin County.

Operations manager for several offices. The Bloomington WorkForce Center from January 2015 to June 2017 and the St. Paul WorkForce Center from June 2017 to October 2018. During this time I oversaw the Job Service programs and Employment Service Program in these areas.

I am a lead worker for the Job Service unit of the Minnesota WorkForce Centers in Dakota County. I work for the Department of Employment and Economic Development's Workforce Development Division. As a specialist I take on a variety of tasks including facilitating classes, managing projects, assisting job seekers and customers, as well as many other responsibilities.

As a DEED Representative and DEED Technician III, I continued to increase my responsibilities with new skills and experiences. During this time, I honed my skills as a facilitator of job search workshops, networking job clubs and other classes. I also spent more time working one-on-one with job seekers and program participants. Including some case management for the Personal Re-Employment Account pilot project. Additionally, I assumed a variety of new duties, including: training co-workers on new systems; assisting staff in Dislocated Worker, MFIP and FSET programs; paying bills; ordering supplies; working on the Get Jobs Job Fair; and many, many others.

I was hired as a part-time, High School intern to create and maintain a webpage for the local office. I continued learning new skills and experience. I became the resident computer expert and desktop publisher. As time progressed, I spent time learning all of the programs and services available. I pllayed a role in the implementation of these programs and services and directly served the businesses, employers and job seekers of the Workforce Center System.

As an assistant manager, I supervised up to five employees at a time. I was responsible for assigning duties and keeping staff on task. I also trained new employees and assistant managers. It was my responsibility to deal with all customer concerns and issues during my shifts. I also opened and closed the store.

I supervised cashiers, service desk clerks, cart attendants and food court workers. It was my responsibility to assign duties and ensure staff were on task. I closed and opened the front end of the store, which included running Point of Sale software, opening and closing registers, cashier assignments and other necessary tasks. I handled all customer and employee issues and addressed them as appropriate.
