Back to delivering projects and BAU support for eBusiness/eCommerce within Capita Systems Integration Division.

Responsible for provision of operational support on eBusiness platform

variety of roles from Analyst/programmer through workstream lead to team manager and then Technical Manager. Variety of technologies including COBOL, VB and web development.Final position transferred over to Capita (see next position for summary of role).

Moved from one CA to another. The nightlife in Forfar was a bit limited so I was looking forward to a move to Auld Reekie.It didn't really work out - wasn't stretching enough for me and I wasn't as ready to put the hours in as they wanted me to be. So, I jumped at the chance to move to Scottish Amicable (later Prudential)

Ran their computer systems, helped tailor their accounting packages for specific customers.

Government-sponsored training facility for Youth Training Scheme (YTS). I ran the departments IT tarining facilities where we trained 10-20 youngsters each year in the basics of conputing. This was in the days when PCs were just starting to hit offices and any kid with an ability to set up a spreadsheet or an accounting package was guaranteed a job.Great fun, enthusiastic youngsters, carefree days.

Straight out of university, knew nothing about PCs, bought the book and stayed 1 chapter ahead of the kids I was teaching.
