I was proud to lead a talented team of product designers @ Swimlane, working to increase the approachability of a highly complex product. I believe the cultivation of a well-balanced, engaged, respectful, and collaborative team is paramount to creating an environment in which people do their best work. In my time so far, I have:Grown the team 500% in a little over a year. Balanced the team with security, consumer, and adjacent enterprise UX experience to help achieve our mission to bring down the barrier of entry to the product. Aligned the team to a collaborative and growth mindset.Led the creation and management of an evolving design system, while building a systems-thinking mindset. Took a scattered collection of components on both the design and engineering side, and united it with purpose-driven pattern definition, documented methodology, and standardized components.Led exploration and definition workshops, competitive analysis, validation sessions, and usability testing to define product and product area MLP experiences.Advocated for product telemetry, and led Pendo enablement and education sessions with design, product, and engineering to understand and embrace the value of in-product insights and measurement.Led the product’s accessibility strategy, and partnered with engineering to make impactful improvements. This included running multiple assessments and publishing the first VPAT. Led cross-functional team advocacy discussions and planning sessions—across product, engineering, and CX.Built and fostered strong relationships across the company—including PM, engineering, CX, sales, and marketing. Spoke to several groups, including the executive team, about a common understanding of the benefits to design thinking, the design mindset, and for design advocacy.Championed a culture of respect, curiosity, and collaboration within the design team, and across all disciplines within the company.

As a developer and designer I partnered with clients, and other team members to design and build approachable, intuitive, and visually compelling websites and applications. I was heavily involved with both the front-and-back-end for any and all development needs, building structures such as intricate forms and ground up shopping cart systems, as well as Stripe integrations.As the development lead, I set standards and managed documentation for best practices for the development team, acted as development architect, reviewed and evaluated new technologies, led development-based Skillshares and client meetings, and defined project milestones.I was responsible for starting and cultivating a Skillshare program for sharing knowledge and encouraging excitement for emerging technologies, methodologies and processes. I also wrote about various topics on design, strategy and development for client education and knowledge sharing with others.
