Before arriving in Los Angeles in 1979, Michael was an attorney in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1975, he left South Africa and worked for an international trading company in its London and Zurich offices. He has no recollection of learning anything from these London and Zurich experiences...After moving to Los Angeles in 1979, he was admitted to the California Bar. His law practice focused on assisting his clients to negotiate and structure their national and international business transactions—and being paid for that work. His greatest challenge was getting paid for this work...In the late 1990s, he ventured from the dark side and left the practice of law to explore life on the bright side—the world of business. He became the CEO of an international music company, then the CEO of an international architectural design company, and then the CEO of a strategic business consulting company. Then, with the 2008 financial collapse, he had no choice but to venture back to the dark side, where he anyway always belonged...His writing includes the critically acclaimed “Detecting the Scam: Nelson Mandela’s Gift,” in which describes how Nelson Mandela's negotiating skills can help detect scams. The Jerusalem Post and others seem to have liked the book, which also highlights how moral authority, common sense, and negotiating skills can make you a better person. His latest writing adventure, "Freddy's Magical Journey," is a storytelling journey in which he shares true stories with timeless life-lessons that can make a difference for the better in our lives. Michael graduated with BA and LLB degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and at McGill University in Montreal. Has done business in many of the most interesting cities, including London, Paris, Geneva, Istanbul, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Dubai, and Montreal – and not forgetting Fresno, New York, and Johannesburg.
