Working in a Controls Development Team for the Core Finance function. We have a wide scope of work, we transform requirements into pipelines, data structures and visualisations, often working with complex semi-structured data. Our visualisations are in Power BI, we are in the process of migrating from IBM Netezza to Azure Synapse Analyics (ADW) and are migrating from a legacy PhixFlow platform to Data Factory for our pipelines. We work in predominatelyin SQL, use the Power Platform and also Python. Part of my role is to give coaching and support to other Engineers.

Working with predominantly in Python and TSQL for our Employee Research Product Development Team going through the initial stages of a major platform modernisation, taking multiple legacy systems to an AWS/Postgres/Databricks. Our project methodology is supported by Confluence, Jira, Slack, Jupyter/Databricks and Trello. I delivered the data elements of projects collaborating with researchers and customers as well as developing specific products. I have been building data pipelines on Python and SQL, modernising legacy systems and solving the problems these systems present. We are rolling out Python as a core language and I am working on our best practice, developing my team and building up our Github repository. My greatest pleasure is working with my team mates to develop a shared vision into a reality or solving complex problems, best of all is helping others to develop their skills and learning new ones from them.

Developed a multiplatform management information service for a banking platform transformation project. Crystal Reports, SQL db2, Agility, QlikView. This was a uniquely challenging and historic project for the sector, involving a high degree of complexity and ability to deliver under pressure.Designed and delivered a full data and BI solution for an automated lending desicion product using Tableau, Python, VBA and SQL Server. I was responsible for all elements from planning, requirement & data gathering, ETL & Data Warehouse to analysis, distribution, Self-Service Analytics and Visualisation. This platform processed around 1M consumer applications for a group of 60 clients.I also delivered several automation projects in Python and delivered advanced Excel, SQL & Crystal Reports training.
