As a part of the Continuing Education program, Basics of Blogging helps students choose topics for their blogs, develop or improve blog design, create meaningful content and, finally, attract an audience to their blog using social media tools.

Friday columnist at Metro Calgary. Column covers issues that are important to Calgarians. Ranging from municipal politics, to city trends and interviews.

For three years, I helped Breakfast Television continue to be Calgary's favourite morning show. My producing experience ranged from live in-studio segments to field producing. (I also got hypnotized during a live on-air segment, but that's more of an in-person story.)I measured my success when I was able to find fantastic local stories and experiences and help connect them viewers at home. I also produced special on location shows in Banff, Canmore and Medicine Hat.

"Wait. I thought you did online stuff?" That's what you're thinking isn't it?Well before working in the online world and in TV studios, I used my Bachelor of Education degree to work with post-secondary students in helping to develop degrees that worked for both their personal and professional goals. The common thread is my career is connecting people. Here's a little bit about that job:-Consult with stakeholders to develop vision, objectives and budget for recruitment activities.-Organize and facilitate client focus groups to identify trends and needs. -Develop and design the content for web and print publication.-Manage printing and distribution.-Assess marketing strategies against objectives to review process, improve practice and realign promotional tools with strategic direction.

I wrote columns for a blog series called The Q. Until Jian Ghomeshi stole our name. No, I'm just kidding. But it was a great community of bloggers that worked together to address issues in the city of Calgary. I was sort of known for stirring the pot and often got in trouble for it. Although once, a radio station did send me to Las Vegas with forty women, so I guess it was alright!
