I currently work as a bellman/night porter at the Benson Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon. In this position I have performed a variety of duties -- bell, concierge, valet parking attendant, and security -- at this four-star hotel. Previously I worked at the Paramount Hotel in downtown Portland. From October of 2017 to April of 2019, I worked all shifts (days and nights) at this 154-room hotel. I assist guests with luggage, dry cleaning, transportation options, restaurant and activity recommendations. In my career I have been a trial lawyer, a technical writer and editor, and a professional Frisbee dog wrangler. I have been an avid walker and hiker for most of my life. I practiced law in Washington State for about 20 years, most notably as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Lakewood, Washington from 1986 through 2013. I retired from the practice of law in 2015.
