I believe in doing the right thing and being a good human. I am a poor manager but a pretty good leader. I’m pragmatic about most things, there are situations when a waterfall methodology could have saved a project (ooh controversial) but I’m a passionate practitioner of agile too. I believe in human connections and want to understand the people I work with. I enjoy solving difficult and interesting problems using a particular set of skills I’ve acquired over a long career that make me pretty effective in a variety of situations.After spending my entire career in technology I still enjoy learning new skills, patterns and tools. I play many roles depending on what’s required at the time from platform engineer, architect, project manager, CTO and even a developer. I like to keep the saw sharp in the engineering space in my spare time and I love to dive into new technology and see what makes it tick.I believe Cloud is the right decision but I have seen many examples of it done wrong where a little upfront conversations with the right people could have stopped a world of pain. I’ve done plenty projects in AWS, Azure and GCP and have an opinion based on experience in many situations.Combining platform architectures and DevOps are a passion of mine and I’m always looking for new ways to enable building the right things in the right way (automated).I’m always happy to meet for a coffee even if it’s just to bounce an idea.
