Helping to bring this $25M glazing construction company into the modern era, first, by attempting implementation of bio metric (facial recognition) timekeeping system for our guys in both the field and in two different shops. We found it to the software confused employees, so we changed to timekeeping on job sites that are transmitted to HQ via the cloud. Second, we'll be converting from QuickBooks Enterprise to an accounting system that can handle the complexity of extensive job costing detail, and still maintain the ability to scale into a full ERP System. And this is only the first eight months I've been with them. Third, created billing forms to make the process consistent across any general contractor, and removing the erroneous math errors that were previously sent to our general contractors. Fourth, automating payroll processing through the cloud function from doing manual timesheet and data entry, to exporting the data into spreadsheets that automatically analyzed, allocated, and is ready to upload, reducing data entry hours and errors.I'm working with one of the most up front & compassionate bosses likely in the construction industry. He was the CFO and purchased the company to keep it from being picked up by investors that would have had more dollar focus than a compassion/personnel focus. He brought me on to alleviate him from the accounting realms stresses, allowing him to work more closely in growing the business in a systematic, planned method. He's incredibly level-headed and knows this industry, despite jumping into this company a few years ago.

Grew premiums over $215,000 during 2013. Met with clients to maintain relationships and help plan for their future. Yea, not a lot of accounting stuff, but it reminded me I’m not a natural born salesman. Ready to delve back into my training of accounting.

I prepared both a fiscal and calendar year budget ($4 million) for the organization. Prepared the annual financial statement and worked directly with the external auditors, receiving a clean opinion each year, while reducing auditors billable hours by eight percent. Monitored and implemented internal controls for the Corporation. Supervise the daily cash receipts and expenditures of the organization. Directly supervise an accounting/payroll/HR clerk. Supervise & work with over 100 employee’s during the Fair, utilizing three managers. Implemented payroll direct deposit for full-time staff. Coordinated and implemented online ticket sales and transition to a new box office sales software. Monitor and organize the ticketing operations & other financial aspects throughout the Fairpark. Created a database program to record & report daily sales by food concessionaires. In addition, I created an on site ‘bank’ during the Fair event. Worked with the Governor’s office and Legislative offices as necessary. Prepared monthly financial statements and report monthly on the financial status of the Corporation to the Board of Directors. Prepare and file monthly and quarterly State and Federal taxes.I did all of this while having a great time being part of the largest party hosted in the State of Utah. It was an AWESOME experience that is truly atypical for an accounting position.

Attempted to do sales with a great group of people. I quickly learned that my auditing background didn't translate into having the best sales experience, so I jumped back into being an auditor with Senior Partner from KPMG who went and hung up his own shingle.

Learned the basics of auditing and how to perform quick calculations to check for reasonableness of the information provided by our clients.Learned that I liked working with people and that working with a smaller organization is more of my personality.
