The Chief Engineer (CE) is the technical interface between the Infrastructure Design and Build Domain and the business technology group (BTG).The CE builds and maintains strong relationships with the BTG and the ET&D Engagement Manager as a Trusted Technical Advisor. This role is to support the Cards/Deposits/Customer domain.The CE engages early in projects and is responsible for facilitating and providing advice and guidance in the planning and design of IT technologies and infrastructure in support of the Bank's strategic plans. The CE also provides recommendations to senior management regarding the Bank's long-range information systems and technology strategy including the cost/benefit analysis of refining/updating existing technologies or adopting new technologies. The CE maintains close working relationships with executive and line management to understand Bank & Line Of Business (LOB) goals and requirements. The CE influences Technology decisions and directions both within and externally. The CE collaborates and also maintains strong relationships with the Architecture, Design and Engineering teams. The CE provides end to end Technology leadership to help quickly address technical challenges on projects and implementation issues to minimize project and production impact. Additionally the CE may lead teams through technical challenges on initiatives and production issues where and when necessary after the standard escalation paths have been exhausted and may partake in Operational Reviews when requested to provide insight from an Infrastructure perspective.
