When Hobsons acquired Starfish there was much change to absorb. Titles, people, laptops,,, but my responsibility to the company didn't. I have continued to maintain our database infrastructure for the Starfish Platform, and at the same time have been able to put extra resources and effort into improving our technology position for the future. Moving our entire DB platform to AWS RDS, expanding our agility in handling customer data, redesigning key systems within the platform, and pushing preparations for peak load times have all been critical accomplishments for me here.

My time here at Starfish has been nothing short of wonderful. I've been exposed to interesting technologies and highly skilled people. Initially coming on board as a data analyst I have been able to expand into many different aspects of our data technologies, including database optimization, scalable redesign, PostgreSQL system administration, and Operations Team development. I've also been able to pick up new skills related to Java, source control, and software building. Looking forward to continuing that growth like this in the future.

When IBM acquired i2 my job title became Consultant, however my responsibilities did not change much from my previous position. My primary tasks included analyzing and documenting disparate datasources for ETL into COPLINK, a database application that consolidates policing data, aids collaboration and helps generate tactical leads. I was also responsible for administering our internal migration servers and MSSQL database servers. This included troubleshooting performance issues, resource allocation, permission controls, and job management.

This involved working with client agencies to acquire their data and implement their custom solutions to best meet their needs and expectations. I was also responsible for administering our internal migration servers and MSSQL database servers, including handling performance issues, resource allocation, permission controls, and job management. A chief highlight was developing and implementing a custom solution for tracking database growth and storage utilization across multiple servers using different database platforms. I was also occasionally called upon for providing expertise to our Canonical Forms Committee for establishing standards and best practices.

In my position at YNP I was the primary person responsible for all server hardware and software installation and maintenance. This included internet protocols for Web, Email, DNS, SQL, and AAA Radius servers. I worked with other engineers for our back end websites used both internally and by customers. I also handled installation and maintenance of our networking infrastructure, primarily using CISCO equipment. A large portion of my duties were dedicated to implementing and maintaining the core MSSQL server farm as well as monitoring security for these systems.Before YourNetPlus acquired Star Internet Communications I was the lead administrator and architect that helped to build all of the infrastructure for a startup internet service provider.
