I am a driven and well performing student of molecular biology at Brigham Young University with interests in synthetic biology, particularly in the scope of plant metabolism engineering for molecular farming. At BYU, I founded and now lead the University's iGEM Synthetic Biology Competition Team, which has just completed its inaugural year, culminating in the presentation of our research at an international convention in Paris, France, as well as an ongoing partnership with the BYU Crocker Innovation Fellowship. During my time at BYU, I have assisted in research across three different labs, and now volunteer my time to the development of novel sequencing based plant diagnostic products with the Tim Jenkins Lab, as well as with BYU BioHive, where I serve as the Head of Student Recruitment, helping BYU students to find access to the Utah Bioeconomy. I intend to pursue a PhD. in Plant Synthetic Biology following my undergraduate, where I hope to optimize plant systems for novel bio manufacturing processes.
