I am a quality-focused research administrator with over 25 years of experience and an eye for efficiency. I began my career in clinical research working directly with investigators to coordinate trials in various disease areas, including cardiology and endocrinology. Advancing to an industry role as a Regional Clinical Research Associate (CRA) based in Southern California, I transitioned to infectious disease research focusing on ground-breaking first-in-class antiretroviral therapy trials for HIV/AIDS. After several years and a successful team project achieving FDA approval for a new therapy, I looked to expand my disease experience in an 'in-house' setting. This led to industry roles focused on endocrinology (osteoporosis, diabetes) and Class I, II, and III medical devices. A desire to be closer to family prompted a return to Oregon. Leveraging my clinical and industry experience, I had the privilege of spending six years cultivating regulatory expertise within the Research Integrity Office (ORIO), Institutional Review Board (IRB), and Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).Garnering insights from these experiences, I transitioned to the Knight Cancer Institute in 2012. Leveraging deep regulatory knowledge across disciplines and strong program management expertise, I built what is now known as the Knight Clinical Research Quality & Administration (CRQA) arm of the Clinical Trials Office. Over eight years, I established programs in Quality Assurance Auditing, Quality Control Monitoring, Clinical Research Education and Training, and Scientific Writing. I strengthened our work overseeing CTRP/Clinicaltrials.gov compliance, IND/IDE regulatory support, electronic data capture (EDC) support, and clinical research informatics and reporting. Leveraging previous work leading the IRB and IACUC compliance committees, I strengthened the operations and policies supporting the Knight Data and Safety Monitoring Committee (DSMC) and the Knight Protocol Review and Monitoring System (PRMS) Committee. In October 2019, I transitioned to the role of Associate Director of Administration for the Knight Cancer Institute. My current goals are to ensure the integration of our strategic research objectives across all Knight Cancer Institute functions.I am honored to work with the Knight's passionate, dedicated professionals and look forward to continued growth as a cancer center administrator.
