The Gender Summit fosters regional and global multi-stakeholder communities committed to enhancing scientific excellence by removing gender bias from science knowledge making; advancing gender equality in science structures and practices, and; applying a gender lens to advance more effective and sustainable research and innovation.

- Manage AIMS-NEI Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion portfolio. Includes overseeing research, design, and implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-focused gender equality and inclusion interventions in Senegal, Rwanda, Cameroon, Ghana, and South Africa. - Lead capacity building through development of training materials and workshops - Represent organization at external meetings and conferences- Lead organizer for the Gender Summit – Africa, a regional event that brings together scientists, policymakers, gender scholars and stakeholders to discuss gender equality in STEM- Coordinate the development and implementation of AIMS Gender Equality and Inclusion policy and strategy.

-Oversee gender portfolio, including managing and reporting on gender deliverables for Global Affairs Canada funded programs.-Provide technical assistance to research, design, and develop gender equality and inclusion interventions and proposal development.-Lead capacity building of staff and youth through development of training materials and running workshops on gender equality.-Support planning, implementation and reporting on gender equality and inclusion events, including the Gender Summit - Africa, a platform for dialogue that brings together over 200 scientists, policymakers, gender scholars and stakeholders in science systems. -Represent organization as gender expert at external meetings and conferences. AIMS is Africa’s first and biggest network of centres of excellence for post-graduate training, research and public engagement in mathematical sciences. AIMS enables Africa’s brightest students to become innovators that propel scientific, educational and economic self-sufficiency. With partners from academia, industry and government, AIMS is setting the ground to accelerate the contributions of science in all spheres of economy & society in Africa.

-Managed education and livelihoods programming in conflict and post-conflict regions, including providing technical support to country programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA-Developed and coordinated proposals for development and emergency funding mechanisms, including UN (UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women) and government granting bodies (USAID, GAC, US Department of State, EU)-Supported development, monitoring and forecasting of multi-million dollar budgets-Responsible for the submission of quality financial and narrative reports to a range of institutional and private donors-Sat on multiple working groups, including InterAction GBV Working Group and Call to Action on Protection from GBV in Emergencies Working Group-Co-chaired Gender Committee and led working group on revision of organization's Gender Equality Policy-Completed additional gender-focused training, including Gender-Based Analysis + through Status of Women Canada and Gender in Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Using a Transformational Approach

-Developed and implemented communications strategies for Homes First, a non-profit providing housing and supports to break the cycle of homelessness-Established and maintained media partnerships including the Toronto Star and Toronto Life-Effectively managed relationships to secure event media coverage including CTV, CP24, CBC Our Toronto, CBC Here and Now and Metro Morning, House and Homes, BlogTO, Hello!Canada, and Radio Canada (French)-Coordinated and created content for annual report and newsletters-Created marketing materials, including five promotional videos-Managed social media presence, including launching organization's Twitter account, steadily growing followers to over 1,000, and tripling likes on Facebook

-Supported all operations of youth shelter, acting as the primary contact when manager was offsite -Managed donor and volunteer relations at site level-Collected, compiled and provided high-level overview of internal M&E data as part of the Performance Measurements Working Group-Served on Anti-Oppression Committee, National Initiatives Program Working Group, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee-Completed additional training in Proposal Writing, Effective Communications, Shelter Standards and Anti-Oppression

-Coordination of the donor database, including ensuring all donor files were accurate, processing donations, and running reports using Raiser’s Edge-Provided support at LEAF's annual Person's Day Breakfast, directing and gathering contact information from attendees prior to Right Hon. Michaëlle Jean's speech

-Managed and promoted weekly and monthly events for 250 students, including coordinating staff and volunteers

-Co-designed research project used to determine a new program region for QPID and establish two new partners-Met and evaluated over 40 NGOs as potential partners using our original assessment tool-Compiled primary and secondary research into a thorough report that led to the selection of four youth internships

-Collaborated with NGOs in Ghana and the school board in Nunavut to secure six mutually beneficial internships for youth participants and partnering organizations-Evaluated impact of ten development internships, leading to decision to expand reach to a new region-Worked on policy review and changes to ensure procedures were still relevant and effective

-Gained strong managerial skills as Director, ensuring the success of five overseas development internships-Served as Emergency Contact for youth abroad, mitigating emergency situations with discretion and care-Tracked all funding to ensure effective use and that projects maintained on budget
