Mitch Beer is a Philadelphia-based Producer, Bass Player, Studio Owner, Label and Management Company Owner, and Educator. He has toured Internationally with the Grammy-Winning Digable Planets, and has spent the last 15 years performing with, and producing for, a number of artists from across many genres, including Boy Beverly, Oddkidout, Stereo League, 1403, and Filson. Mentored by legendary producers such as David Ivory, Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo, and Ivan Barias, Mitch focuses on cultivating young artists’ sounds and developing their careers just as much as helping them create great records. In 2019 Mitch partnered with Retro City Studios to open the Retro City B Room, a new recording studio venture in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, that caters to young producers and artists.In 2021 with business partner and producer Josh Lerner, Mitch formed Somebody’s Dad LLC, a management and label services business as well as began producing and managing the talented young artist Boy Beverly. As his label and manager, Somebody’s dad has released 7 songs so far and spearheaded the development of Boy Beverly’s career.Mitch currently serves as a board Governor for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy.
