As one of the first developers to join SunPower's Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team, I brought a personal ethos of advocating for high code quality, a strong attention to detail, and forward-thinking problem solving. I helped establish a strong team culture that enabled the VPP team to become highly functional and efficient, with a strong throughput of quality features. Together, we built a robust VPP service that granted eligible SunPower customers access to a state-of-the-art new feature and the ability to sell their own energy surplus back to their utility company.Individually, I led the design, implementation, and delivery of SunPower's VPP reporting service. The reporting service is responsible for sending regular energy and power data to a site's utility company, and is an integral aspect of any VPP system. The implementation utilized a metadata-driven configuration system to dynamically build and generate reports based on the specific VPP system requirements. Furthermore, the system was designed to overcome transient and temporary data unavailability by tracking its own success/failure metadata, so that it can try to complete incomplete or partial reports later on when the data may be available.Additionally, I advocated for the funding of VPP's safe deployment system (i.e. Feature Flag support within the VPP infrastructure). I designed and implemented the VPP team's LaunchDarkly library and created supporting documentation so that any engineer on the team can leverage feature flags / change gates to safely deploy riskier changes. This provides the team with an important tool -- the ability to enable and disable changes on our production systems without the need for another code deployment.

As a software engineer primarily focused on the backend services behind Microsoft Project, I encounter a wide array of technical challenges every week and overcome them through teamwork and an always-expanding set of software skills. I help build and maintain a set of highly-available stateless and stateful web services hosted on the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Through the design and on-time delivery of new features and a quick reaction to critical bugs and incidents, I work with my team in order to constantly improve the user experience.

Blending technical acumen with a strong understanding of organizational need, I contributed to a range of technical projects and solutions. I maintained and enhanced a Spring REST API and collaborated on architecture, design, implementation and release of a full-stack application with a separate REST API. Additionally, I designed and implemented a prototype of a static content management and delivery application allowing authorized users to upload static content files to Amazon S3 to be surfaced to outside internet by Amazon CloudFront.Some of my key contributions are as follows: ♦ Expedited process for metadata configuration changes from several weeks to minutes. ♦ Enabled data to be updated live, refreshing table within minutes by re-implementing ETL batch jobs using new ETL streaming framework ♦ Triggered improvements to user onboarding process on internal API by creating new process allowing user set up within 30 seconds that can be performed by anyone with permissions. ♦ Gained experience using Java (7 & 8), JavaScript, Spring, Play, AngularJS, EmberJS, Agile software development, test-driven development, Jenkins, uDeploy, and git.

Utilizing Python, I created an automated testing suite composed of a series of test cases designed to test core pieces of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing functionality. I also developed a prototype for a basic full-stack application comprised of a Java backend and an Android front end to surface network system health in a graphical and tabular manner. Some of my key contributions are as follows: ♦ Replaced manual testing to expedite development testing time by creating an automated testing suite, leading to increased efficiency.
