I am a purpose-driven educator with a strong commitment to personal growth, professional development, and contributing meaningfully to society. I believe in the transformative power of education, not only to advance individual achievement but also to uplift communities. Throughout my career, I’ve carefully evaluated opportunities to align with my strengths and long-term goals, while fostering collaboration and applying a reflective, analytical approach to every endeavor.For the past 10 years, I taught United States Government and Politics, Civic Literacy, and Economics and Personal Finance at West Rowan High School in North Carolina. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with an emphasis on political theory from East Tennessee State University in 2009, and later completed my Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte in 2015. In 2024, I earned my Post-Master's Certification for School Administration Licensure.Early in my career, I became passionate about humanitarian work, traveling extensively in Central America and the U.S. I also participated in a study abroad program in China in 2009, and later engaged in educational partnerships with a Chinese school in 2017 and 2018.As an educator, I prioritize the integration of technology and collaboration in the classroom to equip my students with the skills needed to thrive in a globally interconnected world. My recent roles as Athletic Director and administrative intern (2023-2024) have enhanced my leadership experience, alongside serving as a PBL Coach and implementing a school-wide project from 2019 to 2021. I’ve been an active member of the Rowan-Salisbury Innovation Team since 2018 and served as a trainer in the Literacy Design Collaborative initiative from 2015-2018. Additionally, I coached JV basketball for five seasons and now serve as Director of Basketball Operations, with experience coaching soccer and football and assisting the Athletic Director for the past two years.My goal is to continuously learn from every opportunity, both in and out of the classroom, to enrich my students’ educational experiences and foster a deeper understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives.
