Working directly with the Director, Communication and leading a highly skilled team of four, I am responsible for the strategic planning and execution of communications for the CEO and CFO across a range of internal and external (employees, media and industry). Key projects include regular All employee and Senior Leader briefings to ensure broad alignment to strategy, as well as regular CEO communication and major projects like ASX announcements, Financial Results and general issues management.

Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this position saw me play a key role in major corporate projects including the Annual Report, Annual General Meeting and twice-yearly results.In 2020, I developed and produced AMP’s annual report and was the project manager for AMP’s 2020 AGM, which was held amid the COVID-19 pandemic. I led the communications for our change of AGM venue process, including media strategy, and produced AGM speeches for the CEO and Chairman.

Working as a key part of the Digital and Content team within AMP Public Affairs, my role traverses both internal and external audiences. Internally, I manage and curate several channels, including our employee newsletter, plasma screens and the editorial component of our intranet. Externally, I write broader pieces on key trends and issues. Recently I led the rollout of Workplace by Facebook at AMP, a new enterprise social network which has connected the company like never before.

Reporting directly to the Digital Editor, this role called for a high degree of technical skill, including the curation of several social media accounts, as well as the use of various content management systems and analytical tools. In this role, I led a revamp of The Australian’s EDMs strategy, including reviewing curation principles to further grow the audience and engagement levels. In addition, I wrote and produced The Australian’s daily campaign email High Noon during the 2016 federal election.

My role began as a junior reporter for Business Spectator, but grew to see me reporting to The Australian’s Business Editor and working as a key part of the wider News Corp Network’s business coverage. The role included sourcing and reporting breaking business and politics news, and delivering fast, accurate copy in a digestible and contextual way.
