• Configured 50+ NetBackup 52xx appliances around the globe, set up backup schedules, perfomed restores, configured clients, and set up AIR replications to various data centers. Troubleshooting for AIR and tape/disk drive issues.• Split existing NetBackup environment into 2 separate masters, using one for production and one for Disaster Recovery. Manipulated storage to move appliances from one environment to the next, organized like backup data on appliances. Configured AIR between production and DR. Troubleshooting issues with client side deduplication. Setup naming conventions for policies to make reporting understandable for management. Developed detailed OpsCenter reports. Setup LiveUpdate for updating clients to the latest NetBackup versions.•Troubleshooting Appliance MSDP discrepancy in usage between production site and DR site. Moved data from a production appliance to a loaner appliance for re-imaging. Verifing data integrity at each stage with no data loss. Found/Updated settings to use on appliances to get better performance and efficiency of the MSDP storage. Helped with troubleshooting performance issues with NDMP backups.

Managed Netbackup environments for multiple customers. Ranging from hundreds to thousands of backup clients. Responsible for over 30 NBU appliances covering multiple versions from 2.5.x to 2.7.x. Responsible for upgrading/patching NBU master and appliances, in-depth troubleshooting NBU function failures, AIR replications, backup configurations for VMware, HyperV, MSSQL, Exchange, Oracle, Enterprise Vault, and standard windows and *nix backups. All my customers continually received a 99% RAW success rate over the course of my tenure. Mentored junior Backup administrators and operations specialists in daily activities. Wrote comprehensive documentation for individual customer site specifications. Direct interface with customers weekly and quarterly face to face meetings.

Consulting that includes installing and configuring VERITAS Software for various customers in and outside of the country, both large and small environments. VERITAS software configured using many different platforms (UNIX, WIN, Linux), and various tape libraries, disk arrays, and san & tape technologies. Assist customers with disaster recovery tests by developing DR plans, and writing custom scripts for faster recovery of their key servers.

Responsible for NetBackup SAN, configuring/maintaining/troubleshooting. Responsible for hardware and software purchase decisions throughout the storage environment.

Onsite at the largest NetBackup SAN environment for 4 years. In that period I led the backup group as the environment doubled in size. Accomplishments include re-architecting the environment to create a more reliable, easier to manage and more cost effective configuration. This was realized by proving ideas in writing, submitting & verbalizing them to management and verifying the new architecture in test sites. Developed numerous procedures to keep the environments running efficiently, and free of issues. My work is directly responsible for extending our VERITAS onsite consulting services contract.

Wrote custom software and performed system administration on UNIX and NT servers. Setup and monitored WAN and LAN technologies supporting over 100 branch offices and 25 home office servers. Project lead for all major system updates. In charge of designing, adding and moving branch systems, upgrading servers, configuring firewalls and miscellaneous software.
