Brought in to establish a central dispatch transportation function that added $3M in backhaul revenue. Quickly promoted to VP Operations for 15 tank truck terminals with an overall size of 500 drivers and 1200 trailers supporting $100M in annual revenue. Direct authority for P&L, strategic planning, customer service, staffing, and purchasing. ► Significantly improved profitability of terminals, in particular Sardis, OH. This turnaround resulted in a 10% increase in profit within a year. Focus on accessorial billing, head count reductions, and fuel saving technology were key drivers for this improvement. ► Greatly reduced overhead early in 2008 anticipating the coming financial meltdown while maintaining profitability in the years that followed. ► Created a variety of web based applications to assist terminals in budget conformance, shipment tracking, load matching, asset management, and recruiting. ► Reduced risk and improved safety through numerous safety, health, security, and environmental audits. Developed a monthly shop audit and newsletter geared toward mechanics and tank wash personnel.
