Engineering Project Leader and mechatronics subject matter expect within Dow Research and Development. Responsibilities include managing engineering efforts for end user product prototyping, development of automation and embedded systems for internal testing capabilities, and high performance applications of Dow technologies.

Collaborated with Sandia National Laboratories to design, fabricate, and program a DC microgrid test bench used to identify storage requirements for commercial and military applications. Loads, sources, and storage devices were emulated by programmable power supplies and a super capacitor bank with assets interfaced to a central bus through buck-boost DC-DC converters. A distributed controller algorithm was developed using MATLAB and Simulink to manage power flow through grid assets. Devolved a custom microgrid data acquisition system using LabVIEW hardware executing MATLAB code to monitor power flow between loads and sources within the MTU Mobile Laboratory Microgrid. A graphical interface was developed to visualize power flow and demonstrate technologies being developed at MTU to potential investors; most notably the use of hybrid vehicles as energy storage devices for future microgrids.

Optimized production floor layout and assembly sequences by applying lean manufacturing principals to reduce net build time of spacecraft fuel tanks. Overhauled LabVIEW code and automation hardware of lab scale titanium welding station to reduce wait times in tank manufacturing. Managed collaboration between external contractors and suppliers with internal production to ensure fuel tank deliverables were met for cargo delivery certification mission with the International Space Station.

Developed non-destructive measurement method and associated hardware to characterize valvetrain dynamics on a running engine in order to validate engine math models. Conducted camshaft measurements to validate valvetrain geometry and characterization results. Prepared engines for dynamometer testing including complete engine rebuilds, component installation, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
