The Grupo Luso-Italiano de Arteriosclerose is a non-profit organisation with purely scientific purposes. Within the frame of the collaboration agreement between CERN openlab and SCImPULSE Foundation, I continue to contribute to that part of CERN's research and innovation in IT that is run in coordination with the biomedical community.

I have been a senior fellow of CERN Directorate General team (Rolf-Dieter Heuer, Sergio Bertolucci, Frédérick Bordry, Stephen Myers), and focused on opportunities analysis and cooperations negotiation around shared R&I between the community of High Energy Physics and Medicine. Quite early on my activities converged on IT, as a result of the combined sheer volume of opportunities for mutually interesting cooperations, and the already available long established expertise on accelerators knowledge/technology transfer to life sciences.I have contributed to setting up BioDynaMo, GeneROOT, and several, more focused collaborations between experiment members (from ATLAS, DUNE, ...) and biomedical partners.I have contributed to initiate a collaboration around bigdata and machine learning for healthcare, which binds me still today to CERN as a scientific attaché of CERN openlab.

La Società assume così l'obiettivo primario di operare nel campo della formazione del medico e degli altri operatori sanitari in modo da produrre misurabili miglioramenti nella cultura e nei servizi sanitari del Paese. Essa può compiere tutto quanto sia ritenuto dal Consiglio Direttivo necessario o utile per il raggiungimento degli scopi sociali.
