I am a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington majoring in Communication Studies, focusing on Integrated Marketing Communications. I transferred from the College of Charleston in the fall of 2019 during my sophomore year. I am also an active member of the sorority, Phi Mu. I served as Panhellenic Chair from January 2020 to December 2021, assisting the panhellenic delegate. My role was to attend the weekly Panhellenic meetings with every sorority and provide information to the rest of the members of Phi Mu. This improved my professional life by helping me learn time management as well as how important it is to communicate with your employees, or in my case, sorority sisters.When I came to college, I was unsure what I wanted to do with my professional career. However, in my sophomore year, I took an introduction to integrated marketing communications class. I took this class during the Spring of 2020, so I could not complete the class in person. However, I completed a project about how North Carolina State University can improve its social media so potential students can find information more easily. This project helped me realize that I now want to work with different brands and help them improve their social media and their brand name. I have completed the Hootsuite Platform Training to further social media management learning. I also practice communicating with different types of people at the restaurant I works at. With an extensive knowledge of brand management and how to successfully create a positive brand, I hope to have a career in public relations.
