This position plays a crucial part in the magazine’s branding, presentation and overall look, setting the tone of content through visuals, layout and design. It is the Director's job to be confident in presenting ideas, articulate when raising issues, and interested in magazine trends and design. The role demands an aesthetic sense that complements the Editor’s with whom the Creative Director is working majorly.• Overseeing page layout to match deadlines / production schedule in collaboration with Creative Lead.• Discussing design and layout idea with Editor and Creative Department colleagues.• Approaching and commissioning photographers, illustrators and other visual artists.• Anticipating trends and adapting the magazine’s style accordingly.• Responsible for creating / commissioning / selecting cover which must always look distinctive to attract readers.• Collaborate with Essays department for interviews and art-related feature.
